The thought of doing a seed trial or converting a production space to seed can be daunting. It doesn't need to be! Clones and seed-started plants can easily be grown in the same room.
Seeds and clones have different lighting requirements in the first 10 to 14 days, but once in veg, the plants can be grown together. Follow this link for detail on the differences in ideal conditions for seed and clonal germination and growth cycle times.
As shown on the diagram in the link, it's this easy:
- Sow seeds on the same day you take clone cuttings.
- Transplant within a few days of each other, if seeds are in plugs. Even easier, seeds can be direct sown in pots in the final veg space.
- Veg together.
- Flip to flower together.
- Harvest according to the finish time of the variety.
